Past

Jareth was born during the end of the dark ages to a family that many believed clung to outdated values and customs. His family were Lavioes--a fact they took great pride within. However, the other clans regarded the Lavioe as a clan that died off centuries before. They understood taking pride in one heritage. They were some great heroes, kings and other historical figures that were Lavoie and one should be able to know how they are connected to them, but they thought Jareth's family was taking it a bit far. They should just assimilate into one of the other clans. The Lavioe were no more. They would never raise to the glory and power they held before their down fall, and it was foolish of them to cling to the idea that they would. Various people tried to convince them of this, but nothing they said changed the pride his family felt towards being a Lavioe.

Than one day a group of witches decided that if words would not convince them than maybe actions would. They kidnapped Jareth's mother, her sister, and two of her cousin. They were subjugated to many forms of horrors and tortures. They endured these various forms of abuse before their kidnappers decided that their lessons were taught, and released them. Their family were overjoy when they returned home, but it became clear that their time among that place had damaged each one of them. Jareth's aunt died from the injuries she acquired while captured shortly after returning home. One of his mother's cousins became a shell of her former self. She would do nothing more than stare for hours at the empty space before her. Compared to the other two, his mother and her other cousin seemed to have came out of the ordeal pretty unscathed.

Through, those whom knew the two women realized just how untrue this was. They both returned from the ordeal as two different people than they had been. They, also, came back with a bundle within their bellies. His mother was distraught over this news. She wanted nothing to remind her of the abuse she had endured while captured. She wanted nothing to do with the child growing with her womb, and wanted nothing more for than it to die. Some part of her believed these feelings were wrong. Some part of her realized that her unborn child had no control over his conception, and there was a part of her that regarded the child within her womb with the affection of a mother. It was this affection that lead her to ask her cousin to take her unborn child into her own womb. Her cousin, while affected by the ordeal of her capture, did not seem as horrified by the child growing within her womb.

In fact, She considered her unborn child the only bright spot over the entire ordeal, and looking forward to the joy of being a mother. It was this idea of motherhood that made her not think twice about taking Jareth into her own womb. Shortly after Jareth was transferred into her cousin's womb, his mother committed suicide. This act cause everyone to look towards his mother's cousin. They had known none of them returned from the ordeal unscathed, but they had thought both Jareth's mother and her cousin had adjusted pretty well to the aftermath of the horrors. His mother's suicide showed them just how much the entire thing haunted her, and they begun to wonder that if Jareth's surrogate mother was just as haunted by these events as his biological mother. They begun to watch her closely, looking for any sign that she was, and some took everything she said and did as a sign.

They feared how these nightmares were going to reveal themselves. They feared that they were going to reveal themselves in a manner that was dismantle to the unborn children within her womb. Some went as far as to say the only reason she wished to give birth to them was because of some kinda ill intention she had told them. They demanded that she be locked away. They demanded that her babies be taken from her. It was a demanded that the head of the family refused. She did not see any benefit to locking her away nor did she believe that Jareth's surrogate mother was pretending to love the lives growing within her womb. No, she believed that the best way to help her heal from the horrors she had faced while kidnapped was to allow her to return to a normal life and offer her help if the memories of what happened to her became too much for her.

This was not what they wanted to hear. So, they went to the two people whom could overrule the head of their family decision not to do as they requested---her parents. It didn't take them long to convince her parents that it was for their daughter's best interest to lock her away and take her babies away from her as soon as they were born. They immediately locked her away, and it quickly became clear that the head of their clan had been right that locking her away would do more harm than good. She went from a pretty calm woman to one that many would described as a raving lunatic. The head of the family was not surprised by this. She told them that Jareth's surrogate mother had been locked away while she was kidnapped and to lock her away as they did only triggered the memories of what happened to her. She demanded they released her.

They refused. They claimed that this was the proofed that the entire ordeal had affected her more than she had let on. It was only when she went into labor that the door of her cage was unlocked. She ended up giving birth to two beautiful babies. One boy and one girl. Those whom had locked her away quickly made plans to give her children to someone else to raise. Plans that his surrogate mother overheard. She did not wish to lose her children. She did not wish to lose the only bright spot within her life, and decided that she needed to prove to everyone that she wasn't as broken as they believed. She decided the only way to do this was to find those whom had kidnapped her and kill them. It would have been considered justice served if it wasn't for the fact she ended up killing her kidnappers entire family along with her kidnappers.

The scene was gruesome. Some described it as the most horrific thing they had ever laid their eyes upon. Her kidnappers clan demanded justice. They did not demanded it for the kidnappers. They knew what they had done to her was beyond terrible, and if she had told them that she wished to kill them for what they did to her and her cousins and sister they would have tied them to a post. It was the children they demanded justice for. Children whom had no part in their parents crimes. The Lavoie, however, wished to refuse them justice. They claimed while the death of a child was indescribable that this was the price of war. Their clan leader told her people that this was bullshit. What had been done to those children was not an act of war. The two clans had not be at war. What had been done to her had not been an act of war. It was an act of a group of sick and twisted people whom was not a reflection of their clans belief.

More over, it wasn't just the act of this group that lead her to committed this horrible crime. It was their decision to lock her away and take away her children that played a role in this. She had told them that doing such a thing would do more harm than good. She had known the ordeal had affected her, but putting her in a situation where she believed she was reliving it would never be good for her mental well being. It was them whom broke her enough to believe killing an innocent child is ever a form of justice--a crime she is certain the young woman would be horrified to her she had committed if she had been in her right mind. It was for this reason they will die in her place. Each and every last one of them will pay for her crimes as if they had been the ones to committed them with their own hands--including her parents. She made their execution a public display--allowing the member of the clan whose children she had killed watched justice be served.

After the execution, the head of the Lavoie clan brought Jareth's surrogate mother and her two children into her home to live. It was here she thought she could help his surrogate heal. She was right. Slowly the damage caused from the hands of her kidnappers and from being locked away by her own people slowly faded away until the woman she had been slowly emerged. There was no denying that these events did not affect her. She would always bare their scars, but the clan leader believed they would not define her. However, she did not foresee how her own crime to those children would affect her. She should have. She had known how much the young woman had adored children. Even before she found herself pregnant, Jareth's surrogate mother had always expressed a desire to be a mother. She was constantly volunteering to watch over the children of the clan.

So when she realized what she had done to those children. She demanded that she be put to death. Her clan head told her that there was no need. Punishment had already been dished out for that crime. Besides, she was not in her right mind. She cannot be held responsible for things she had done while insane. These were words Jareth's surrogate mother refused to listen to. She kept demanding to be killed for what she had done and than one day she decided to take her own life. It was Jareth and his sister, whom had been seven at the time, were the ones who found her body hanging from the rafters. The head of the Lavioe clan decided to adopt Jareth and his sister as her own. She did not wish to see them ship away from the only home they had known.

Through, the act was not entirely selfless. She had came to love them deeply and did not wish to deal with the pain of telling them goodbye, and since she was clan leader there wasn't a single person whom would tell her that she couldn't adopt them. However, if there was anyone whom believed she shouldn't adopt them they did not express these feelings aloud. Those whom spoke their opinion on her decision to adopt them supported this decision. Some even claimed that Jareth and his sister had became hers long before she decided to adopt them. She had brought them into her home shortly after they were born and proceeded to fall in love with them. She had been the one to take care of them, love them, feed them, clothed, kissed their boo boos, and sooth their nightmares away while their mother had been incapable of such things.

The next three years were the typical life of a happy child. He had everything he could want and need. However, shortly after his tenth birthday his entire world changed. In fact, many believed the entire witch world changed. It was the year many claimed marked the end of the dark age. It was the year that Astrea became queen. News of her ascension swept across the land along with the changes she planned on making. It was news everyone knew had the possibility of changing everything and they rushed to pick which side to support. Some put their stock with Astrea and the promise she made for their future. They believed it was a time for a change. Others put their stock with those that stood against her. They didn't believe anything should changed. While their world had its issue it was perfect for them.

It, however, stood as no surprise that Jareth's adopted mother decided to put her stock in with Astrea. She had always been a rather progressive woman for her time, and so no one was surprised by this decision. However, there were those within the Lavoie clan that did not wish to see their clan align themselves with a mad woman. They believed that Astrea's dream was going to destroy their world and them along with it. They believed they should just pack up and leave the clans collective. They believed they should just find an island somewhere and built their own society there. They told their leader this much, but she told them that wasn't going to happen. She believed in Astrea's dream and even if she did not succeeded in making it real she didn't think it would destroy them. This did not make those whom thought they should leave happy and so they decided to kill her.

They succeeded in this task, but Jareth came upon them just as his adopted mother took her last breathe. They knew that if their own dream would die right there if they were identified as their clan leader killer. They would be sentenced to death for such a crime, and so they decided to silence the only person whom they believed could identify them as the killer---Jareth. They moved to eliminate Jareth just as they had the woman he called mother. They knew perfectly well that killing a child was considered the most grievous of crimes among their people, but desperate times call for desperate measures. They thought the task would be easy. How much of a fight could a ten year put up? It turned out a lot. Jareth did not know the reason they were trying to kill him. He did not know it was because he stumbled upon the crime scene while his mother's killers were still there.

He thought they were trying to eliminate his entire family, and that his sister was going to be next. He did not wish for that to happen, and fought so hard for her sake. However, it became clear that his fire was not strong enough to stand against the determination of his adopted mother's killers. They might have succeeded in their goal in killing him if it wasn't for the fact that a tiger by the name of Dojan came to Jareth's rescue. He made quick work of those attempting to kill Jareth and took him to where Astrea was staying so she could determine what to do about the entire incident. The punishment that Astrea decided to give those whom tried to kill Jareth came as no surprise to those whom knew her. It, also, came as no surprise that she decided to unofficial adopt Jareth. She allowed to stay within her camp, and along with the help her two generals provided him with the education she wished to give every witch child.

Jareth became just as fond of Kyrell and Sindri as he did Astrea. The most surprising was Kyrell. He had heard stories about the male, but it appeared he had a soft spot for children. However, his deepest bond was formed with the tiger whom saved him. The two became inseparable---something they continued to be way into the future. This bond helped them survive many trials and turbulence. It was a bond that allowed them to regard each other as brothers rather than friends. The years drifted by they witness Astrea's death--as much as anyone whom were living during that time and stood close to her might have. They saw the great wolf war, loved and lost until they found themselves in the currant times.

Present

Around five hundred years have passed since Dojan had saved Jareth's life, and their pairing of two had grown to include three more members. A wolf named Dallan Von and two witches by the names of Eloi Vesela and Keir Giese---the latter of whom is the son of Kyrell. Jareth found himself growing as close to these three has he did Dojan, and they became a rather inseparable pack that support each other in whatever decision they might make. They became gained quite a reputation among the witches community as bad boys. They get into lots of mischief together, and their presences among any party taken place within the witches community is a sign of the party's hit.

It is at these parties that Jareth makes use of his specialty. He has the ability to create potions. Potions that can provide people with things the are lacking---confidence, courage, lower ones inhibitions, and anything else that one might desire. Some say creating these potions are unethical. One for the addictive qualities they have and two they can be used upon others to make them do what they might not have normally done underneath their influences, but Jareth believes he only supplying people with a product they want and he holds no responsibilities on how these potions are used. Besides, if he doesn't create them someone else will and it isn't like he invented these potions. They have existed since the dawn of their society.

Jareth has watched his friends one by one find love and become well on their way to start a family. Both Dojan and Dallan already have children. Dallan became a father first and in Jareth's opinion is very suited for the job. Jareth loves his friends children as if he was really their uncle and vows to be there for them as they grow. He does, however, wonder if someday he will meet the one he will settle down with but he doesn't put much thought into this. He will just enjoy the ride of life wherever it might take him.
